#11: Auld Lang Syne

New Years Eve hasn't been the greatest... It never is to be honest.
I didn't get to kiss the one I love, at midnight, and I got kicked out of the house party I was at, because of the people I was with... Ouch!
Sitting in front of the fire now, drinking Jack Daniels Honey Liquor, wishing for a very better new year...

#10: Manning Close!

This is what I have been dying to see all Christmas...

Every year, just a 10 minute walk down the road from where I live, a specific house at Manning Close, goes Christmas crazy! They completely transform the outside of the house, into a winter wonderland, and everyone comes to visit! It's completely free to look at, and is purely in the name of the Christmas Spirit. A very festive, tourist attraction, perfect for any age!

I wish I had been before Christmas, to experience that festive feeling even more so, but it was still just as lovely to see, even now, inches away from 2013!

#09: I Wanna Hit The Road, Daddio!

I met up with Lucy, at Cafe Nero today, and grabbed myself a free hot chocolate... (O2 moments).

We caught up on what had happened in the last 2 and a half years, and whilst we've both been through very similar experiences in the S,D,R&R department, I've been stuck in Somerset, and she's been studying in China. Lucky cow!

After speaking with her, I've decided I would like to work towards getting a TEFL certificate, for when I eventually go travelling. Hopefully this will be in early 2014. My plan will be to go to Beijing, and visit her. Being there for Chinese New Year would be incredible, and then off to Tokyo, Bangkok, and Sri Lanka hopefully! But my first step: Get a full time job!

After, saying goodbye to Lucy, I went back to a poorly Sean, chatted for hours, then cooked wraps and omelettes for tea.

At 22:30, I decided to give him a hair cut!

There aren't any pictures of his new hair, but here is one I took when washing it, with it all slicked back. It really is a crying shame he doesn't wear his hair this way all the time, because he really does look like one cool cat!

#08: They Call Me Mellow Yellow...

Today's blog post was supposed to be about the bargains I would have found in the sales, had there been any! But the highlight of my shopping trip was finding 2 for £4 Sure deodorant... Which I snatched up quickly, by the way!

I STILL haven't been to Manning Close! It's going to be new year soon, Christmas will be over, and I still wouldn't have seen it! I'm really going to have to pull my finger out. MaƱana...

Another highly productive day, consisted of collecting a pair of shorts, that I lost at the 21/12/12 house party I went to. (Don't ask!) I also tried out my new brogue shoes, and yellow coat. The pair are a lovely combination, and deserve to be shown off!

I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Not just for Manning Close, (if I ever end up going!) I'm planning on meeting up with an old friend from school, and having the classic "Coffee & A Catch Up!"

The last time I saw her was in the summer of 2010, and I had just returned from a picnic in Priddy, with my ex. I don't recall much of what was said that night, as this picnic was when I first tasted the delights of Cheddar Valley Cider. A deadly, bright orange liquid, extracted from Snow White's apple itself. So, a sober chat is very much needed!

#07: "...To Make Each Day Count!"

The days between Christmas, and new year are always the laziest. Your kind of in limbo between eating too much, and starting back at the gym...

I wasn't feeling too well this morning, so slept in until quite late, and I was planning on visiting Manning Close this evening, but have decided to leave that until tomorrow.

At the moment, I'm sat watching what I think, is the greatest love story of all time; Titanic!

Although, this sounds like a lazy day, (which it is), I'm glad to be sat here watching this epic film, as I have been completely filled with inspiration.

Just before the scene I've posted a picture of, where Jack and Rose have a fun and crazy night, at the 3rd class party; Jack is sat with some of the first class passengers, exchanging conversation.

When sat at the table, the mother of Rose, Ruth, asks Jack where he is living, and Jack informs her that his current address is RMS Titanic, and then after that, he's on God's good humour.

"You find that sort of rootless existence appealing, do you?" - Ruth

To which Jack replies with something I find incredibly inspiring. A quote in a film I find highly underrated, and truer than most.

"Well, yes Ma'am, I do. I mean, I've got everything I need right here with me. I've got air in my lungs, a few blank sheets of paper. I mean, I love waking up in the morning, not knowing what's gonna happen, or who I'm gonna meet, where I'm gonna wind up. Just the other night, I was sleeping under a bridge, and now here I am, on the grandest ship in the world, drinking champagne with you fine people! I figure life's a gift, and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you... To make each day count."

I wish to live my life by this quote, and the meaning of it is the main reason as to why I started this blog originally...

"To make each day count."

So, as I sit here sobbing over the greatest love story of all time, watching the ship sink, along with it's lost souls, I'll make extra effort, and a mental note to myself to never forget this valuable lesson... And I can always check back here if I ever forget : )

#06: The Day of Boxing!

...why do they call it "Boxing Day?" What is the meaning? And what is it for? I've always thought that they should call it something a little more appropriate, like "Leftovers Day", or "Hangover Day". The last thing you want to be doing today is boxing!

I slept like a baby. For roughly 10 hours, and dreamt of strange, but wonderful things.

We awoke, and carried the rest of the day out in PJ bottoms, and Christmas Jumpers.

Lunch was divine! I had 2 puddings, and felt very drunk, despite not having a single drop all day. Ironically enough though, I felt miles better after an Irish coffee.

We banged on Shrek, which I don't think I have seen in well over 5 years, and played the classic family Christmas game; Monopoly! Unfortunately, my mum did not partake, as she has had far too many bad experiences from playing, involving family members becoming extremely competitive, and turning against each other! ...but that's what Christmas is all about, right?! ;)

It pains me to say, but it is back to reality a little, tomorrow... but not quite! Not until 2nd January for me! I'm dragging out this lazy, Christmas malarkey for as long as possible!

I'm thinking of heading to Manning Close tomorrow evening, to keep my Christmas vibe within, going strong. If you're not exactly sure what I mean, and why a mysterious place called "Manning Close" is due to keep my Christmas Vibe going, then you'll most definitely find out tomorrow.

Merry Christmas once again, everyone! And soon enough, a happy new year!

#05: "It's Christmas Day..."

Merry Christmas everyone!

I have had a lovely day!

In the morning, we popped open the Bucks Fizz, devoured the smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches, and teared open our presents!

I was bought a new mustard coloured coat/ jacket, and a beautiful, teal dress, from my mum. Peter Pan, and Brave on DVD, from Colin (my brother). A pair of my favourite shoes, and Heavy Rain on PS3, from Sean (my boyfriend), and a few other things from each, and others.

Later that day, we headed to Sean's Dad's, and Step Mum's house, and I stuffed my face with Christmas dinner, in true, traditional fashion!

I had a lot of wine, then followed it up with a great nap, and later, sat in the front room, with my family, and watched The Snow Dog... Which I loved!

Tomorrow, we're having our Christmas dinner, playing Monopoly, (probably Scategories too!) and watching a film. I can't wait! :)

I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas, and that you all have a smashing Boxing Day!

Merry Christmas everyone! x x x

#04: The Night Before Christmas...

Last minute Christmas shopping, filling up my mum's stocking, and dressing up a little extra sparkly than usual, have been my main priorities on today's To-Do list.

I have had around 5 mince pies, soon to be 6... 7... 8, 9, 10, and I've just started on the mulled wine. It really is, well and truly, beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go!

I'm certain I'll be adding a few more fond memories to my mind's photo album, this evening. And this evening's antics will take place on the streets of my hometown; Wells.

I wonder if I'll see Santa...

#03: Gathering The Rashings

In we went, making our way through the raging zombies with trolleys, whilst filling up our own with mince pies, smoked salmon, and bucks fizz. Everyone was here with the same mission; Get in, and get out alive, as soon as possible.
Avoid injures.
Decrease in bank ballance was to be expected.
Health bar would be filled to the maximum, with a few medi packs for back up.

Along our way, we met a few friends, who told us where we needed to go, to obtain what we needed, to carry on with our mission. However, we also came across many enemies along the way. Each with many screaming spouses, and both with very different intentions. We slayed through them, and pressed on.

After gathering all of the rashings we required, we headed for the checkpoints, and grabbed the last of the christmas crackers along the way, receiving extra bonus points for the crackers containing such delights as 'The Plastic, Jumping Frog', and 'The Miniture Tennis Racket'. I knew this Christmas was going to be special!

After levelling up, we made our way back through the main doors, and headed to the next stage of the game, taking me to my next checkpoint; 'Sean's house'. This is where I spent the rest of my day, eating chocolate, and watching Friends. It is Christmas after all! :)

#02: The Aftermath

As we peeled off the covers from our tender skin, and picked our bodies up from under the rubble of duck feathers, we each made our way, one by one, to the fountain. We sipped upon the aquatic refreshments it had to offer us, then sat and reminisced over the pain and embarrassment we had been left with, from the previous evening; each with stupid grins spread widely across our faces.

How would you like to spend your last night on earth?

For me, I would have to be surrounded by smiles, dancing with friends, and telling the ones I care for most, how much I love them, and why... Also, I'd like to be a little drunk! But that's exactly how last night went for me.

Tonight, on the other hand, will be quite the opposite. I'll be snuggled up in my bed, with a cup of green tea, and a good read!
