Today was just like any other day, really.
I couldn't get to sleep until late the night before, so I woke up late, and got up late. But I made up for a morning missed, with a fun afternoon and evening.
After making pasta, and starting series 2 of The Office, me and Sean decided to watch my favourite film of all time; Pulp Fiction. It's been on the cards for a while now, but it never felt like the right time to watch it, until tonight.
Just like our character, played by Samuel L Jackson; Jules, here are my hard-hitting, inspiring, final words...
What a phenomenal film Pulp Fiction is. Tarrantino's best, undoubtedly. It is an absolute pleasure to view such passion, and artistic perfection, through the art form of a movie. To be able to view this work of art over, and over again, and to take something new away from it, each time, is something truly remarkable. Every time I watch this film, it is as if I am viewing it for the first time. I experience the same amount of intensity, in all aspects of my emotions, as I did originally.
There are so many good things to say about this movie, but my final words on the subject are that I treasure it. And I thank the power of the imagination, hard work, and determination, for bringing it to life!

#41: All That Glitters Ain't Gold
I started my day by playing a few of the games on Wii Fit, with my mum. It was a lot of fun, and was nice to bond with her, as it's quite a rarity. But today was not a day of sports and fitness, it was a day of nostalgia.
A few days ago, I ordered a copy of The Gold Experience, by Prince. This was an album we used to own, back in the 90's, that has become quite difficult to buy, for a normal price of around £7. However, I found a copy of it, along with The Greatest Hits 1, on eBay, both in good condition, for £15.
So, when it arrived today, it was the first thing I could think about listening to. After hearing mist of the tracks, I came across the song "Gold". A song I used to love as a kid, that I had completely forgotten about, until now. Approximately 17 years later, the sound of nostalgia flowed through me, and was literally music to my ears.
As a tribute, I wore Prince on my body, with pride, and bounced about in sparkly, gold pants to add to the theme.
So, for any Prince fans out there, enjoy this old time classic...

#40: Thunder Only Happens When It's Raining...
I had a lovely catch up with Lucy, on the telephone, this evening.
I actually spoke to her on my iPhone, not my vintage-looking telephone, in this picture. Although, I thought I'd snap up a quick shot of this beauty anyway, as I feel it fits this blog post perfectly.
Classic, and girly, describing both the telephone, and my conversation with Lucy.
Later, into the night, I stayed up late, downloading classic Fleetwood Mac tracks, and watching Lana Del Rey videos.
Whilst it poured bloody murder outside my window, I dreamt of one day becoming a rock star...

#39: Female Film Fanatic
I cannot believe I almost went to bed without blogging! I almost completely forgot! That wouldn't have gone down too well!
I went on a geeky, little shopping trip today, and bought myself 6 second hand DVDs for £10.
Here are the films, in order of preference;
1) The Pursuit Of Happyness
2) Walk The Line
3) Stir Of Echoes
4) Alien
5) Pretty Woman
6) The Fountain
I've seen all of the films above, besides The Fountain. I bought The Fountain, because I am a fan of Darren Aronofsky. He directed The Black Swan, Requiem For A Dream, and The Wrestler, which are all, in their own respect, incredible films. The Fountain got a high score of 7.3 on IMDB, so I am in hope that it will live up to my expectations.
Minus The Pursuit Of Happyness, I have only seen the remaining films either once, or a very long time ago, so it's going to be a lot of fun re-watching all of these classic movies once again.

#38: My True Romance
I went to bed at 7 this morning, after watching a ton of Friends videos, with Squelch. I'm a good friend!
Although, I did suffer quite a bit from sleep deprivation, and had to spend most of my day sleeping, I had a nice evening. Me, Sean, and his brother watched True Romance, and I loved it! I'm disappointed with myself for not watching it before now, as it's a very iconic movie. It made me want to dress up in colourful 80's themed clothes, drive to America, eat chips when I got there, and ride on roller coasters!
Travelling to America is certainly one of my dreams, and travelling is one of my true loves. So maybe one day, if I'm lucky enough, I will have the pleasure of experiencing this true romance

#37: A Heart-To-Heart
I had a lovely walk back home, today. I strolled along side the moat, rested against a bench, and lapped up the Lucozade. Perfect after a night of whiskey.
Tonight, was about cheer up drinks in town. Me and Squelch, had drinks down the pub, exchanged ghost stories, then grabbed a take away pizza afterwards, then headed back to Shinny's for Simpsons, Friends, and a heart to heart!

#36: A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed
A friend of Shinny's was in need, this evening. So, after a bit of guy love, and hugs, and after hearing that whiskey, and rollies were on the agenda, and I made my way over.
With chatting crap, jamming, and debating, tonight was a night of emotion.

#35: The Interview...
Today was the day of my interview, at Vision Express. I'd only had 3 hours sleep, and was up at 06:30, making breakfast, and revising for the most intense, and difficult interview of my life. Every single interview question they could have asked, they asked, and more. But I think I did a pretty good job. I find out at the end of next week/ the week after, if I have the job or not. So, fingers crossed!

#34: Nando's & Django
For the past 2 weeks, Sean has been on a retail course. He has been guaranteed an interview for a new company, he's been training for, and today was his last day of training, before his interview. Today is also the day before my interview, so we decided to go out to celebrate!
We took a bus ride to Bristol, and feasted our eyes upon virgin snow, that had settled on the fields, that accompanied us, on our way.
We grabbed a Nandos, then watched Django Unchained.
It reminded me of when I was about 13, and we were studying the slave trade, at school. Although the film is particularly funny, and light-hearted at times, with a "tongue in cheek" vibe, it also made me feel very emotional. Observing the pain, and suffering, of these poor people, and to see what they went through, was really quite difficult to watch, at times.
However, on that note, the film is a real tribute to the black revolution, was highly entertaining, and an excellent film overall. Not to mention, a ridiculous, and probably record breaking amount of "N" bombs dropped!!
After Django, we had a drink at a bar, named Start The Bus; one of my favourite places to start off, on a night out, in Bristol! I'm looking forward to the next time I return here, as I absolutely adore these Bristolian streets!

#33: A Bouquet Of Confusion/ The Flower Knight
I think today has been my first "down in the dumps" January day! I've not been feeling particularly great. So, I decided to use my creative outlet, and create some abstract art.
Whenever I am in a particularly emotional mood, I'll grab a pen and paper, close my eyes, and just scribble what I am feeling. I then make a picture out of what I have drawn, and it usually comes out looking pretty cool. You can usually get multiple pictures out of it, depending on which way you observe it.
Today, feeling confused, and sad, I put pen to paper, and scribbled...
Here is my latest piece; A Bouquet Of Confusion/ The Flower Knight!

#32: "I'm A Hound Dog! Aaawoowoowoo!"
Starting off the day with breakfast in bed, and a Disney film isn't exactly how most people spend their Monday mornings. Not having a job certainly has it's little perks, like this one, but it also has its downers. Never having any money to do anything, and feeling very unmotivated, are a couple, for you. But you have to make the best out of what you've got.
After signing on, and finding out my money was to be suspended, due to a misunderstanding, I was feeling low. I took a little walk around a snowy churchyard, and thought deeply about my position.
I wanted to make a change. Now. Not later.
I took this experience, and decided to learn from it, rather than let it get me down, for too long. I decided that I was no longer going to take no for an answer, and that yes, I would find myself a job. Now!
I began hunting, sniffing out juicy employment opportunities, like some crazed blood hound. As a result, I am now employed as a part time, "as-and-when" member of staff, at my local. I also have an interview this week, for another nice, little, part time job.
There is one thing I pride myself on. I may not have a full time job, a career, or any idea where I want to go in my life, but I do have passion, and fire. If I want something, I always find a way of getting it.

#31: A Cosy Winter Sunday
I was going to go sledging again today, but my muscles were still aching from yesterday's antics, and I was feeling particularly lazy, so I stayed in, and played Heavy Rain instead. I only started playing it this weekend, and I'm already doing better than Sean did... Probably a bad sign.
So, today consisted of a delicious roast, cooked by my mum, a game of Scrabble, that I was flying through, until it was accidentally destroyed by my big slippers, followed by more episodes of The Office. A very cosy Sunday!
It's one of my New Year's Resolutions to learn how to cook a roast, so I should think a "My First Roast" related blog post should be coming soon enough.

#30: A Bed Of Snow
I've had a wicked day. If I haven't been snuggling up, and cuddling in bed, I've been sledging the hills of Wells Golf course again.
Me and Shinny headed up there, pretty much as soon as we got up, which naturally, wasn't until the afternoon. I was feeling pretty tired after yesterday, so I didn't think I'd be feeling it. That soon changed as soon as I caught sight of some familiar faces, with cider, cigarettes and an air bed.
Head first, lying on our fronts, we tore the hill apart, sliding through acres of snow, and taking most of it with us. A crazy experience!
I also snow boarded for the first time today, on my sled, and think I did pretty well, before falling flat on my arse.
Same again tomorrow?!

#29: Footsteps Through Narnia
Stirring in our sleep, I finally came to, at around 07:30, due to the sound of Sean's excitement.
I opened my eyes, and the first thing I saw was the hedge outside of my window, completely covered in snow.
I've never got out of bed so quickly!
All the roads, roofs, trees, and fields were all coated white. Virgin snow had spread its beauty across the whole of Wells.
After snuggling back under my own personal blanket of snow, Sean went home briefly, bought some sleds, then we wrapped up tightly, and headed for the golf course.
I've only ever been sledging once in my life, and that was in January 2010. This was my first time up the golf course, despite living opposite for over 10 years.
There were so many people there, as its apparently one of the best places to go sledging. It certainly lived up to its name!
After me and Sean had spent a couple of hours rolling about, and falling over, we headed back to mine for hot chocolate, with marshmallows, and re-watched the first few episodes of The Office. Absolute comedy gold!
The snow will be here for a while, so it's going to be all about the frost biting blog posts, from now on.

#28: Thanks For The Memories
Today has been highly unproductive, so it's hardly worth blogging about! But I know the rules, so I'll therefore talk to you about what's on my mind.
In the last few months, 2 people, both of who I used to call my best friends, have vanished from my life. Along with a couple of others here and there. This was through lack of communication, interests fading, and the sands of time burying something that was once, truly special.
I had a feeling this was going to be the year that current friends would disappear, new ones would appear, and the oldies would reappear.
So, here is a picture of a collage I made a few years ago, and kept adding to, all the way from the year 2003 - 2011.
In the name of the past, the present, and the future, despite any current grudges, or lack of clarification, "thanks", in the name of memories forever kept close to the heart.

#27: Shock! Shock! Horror! Horror!
This morning was "one of those mornings"...
As soon as I woke up, and got out of bed, I found that my cat, Claudia, had pissed on my bed, twice in the night. I had only just changed my bed sheets the night before. I was not happy!
Both my cats are excellently house trained, so they'll usually scratch on the door, and meow continuously, until someone lets them outside.
On top of that, whilst I was cleaning my bed, I spilt the water on my table, all over my things, whilst flipping the mattress! Not good.
However the day improved, as it went along. I got dressed, headed to Sean's, and cooked us a Thai green curry. I then tested him on his knowledge of Harry Potter, we listed our favourite guitar riffs of all time, and got excited about Download Festival this year... I cannot wait!
We watched Rec. in the evening. My favourite horror film of all time! ...still a little scared now, writing this blog post!

#26: The Cat Nap
After 3 hours sleep, and a morning of signing on, food shopping, and job hunting, I felt a little nap was deserved.
I crashed out on the sofa, opposite the large window in my front room. I was lying in just the right spot, where my eyes were shaded, but the rays of light, shining their brightest, through the glass, were heating the rest of my body. I soaked up every last bit of warmth from the sun, whilst the icy pavements were barely melting, from a frozen evening, the night before.
Amber curled herself up on my lap, and absorbed extra heat in her fur, and as she did, I closed my heavy eyes.
Together we dozed, for half an hour or so, then carried on with the rest of our days,
Whilst she ate, washed, and napped again, I downloaded some music from a never ending list of wanted songs, whilst listening to Radio 1. I reminisced over when I saw Slipknot play st Download 2009, whilst listening to the highlights on Zane Lowe's show. I felt that little familiar black butterfly flutter by in my tummy... I can't wait until June! I've already started saving for this year's festival, as Slipknot will be there again, along with Stone Sour, (two of my favourite bands).
So, here's to hoping I make it before the tickets sell out!

#25: Running Into The Sunset...
...is exactly what I did today. I ran against the cold air, watched the sun go down, and made my body ache, with pain, and endorphins.
Last night it snowed, but it didn't settle, so I can still run around this city, and I must seize every opportunity to do so, whilst I still can, (though it's doubtful I will!) :)

#24: 12 Years In Azkaban!
Incase you didn't know already, I am in fact, a very big Potter fan! I used to be completely obsessed with the books, and would sort everyone I knew into a house. I'd also be half convinced that one day, I would receive my belated letter of acceptance into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry... I'm now 22, and I'm still waiting!
I, myself, am a Slytherin, (sorted on Pottermore), and I am very proud of it! No, I'm not a baddy... I'm awesome!
It has been my mission to open the eyes of those so blind, and show them the incredible world of Harry Potter.
I have only 2 rules;
> No. The films are not the same! So, you cannot base your knowledge, or a valid opinion, of Harry Potter, on them.
> You have to read books 1, 2, and 3, before you can actually have a valid opinion of them.
You may think such thoughts as;
"why should I put my trust in someone else's opinion, when I have already made my own judgement through the films?"
Or
"The books can't be that good, if you have to read the first 3, before anything worthwhile happens..."
Although, both points are indeed fair, my answer to you would be that although ignorance is indeed bliss, the world of Harry Potter is a far more blissful place. But through the protection of you ignorance, you will never have to know, so you needn't worry... You're just an idiot.
Luckily enough for me, and these 2 very lucky beauties, I managed to convince both Sean, and my friend Carla to read the books...
Carla; my best friend back in school, and a fellow Slytherine is half way through the fourth, and is absorbed! (As suspected).
Sean; my boyfriend, a Gryffinfor (which I found out earlier today), has just finished the 3rd book; Prisoner Of Azkaban. He had his first 'geek out' today, over the thought of what it was gping to be like when seeing a dementor in action, for the first time, when seeing the film... It was a truly beautiful moment!
Now, after every book Sean reads, we snuggle up, gather up the chocolate, and Berty Bott's Every Flavour Beans, and watch the film. It recovers what he has just read, and helps you picture the books even more so. It's also a lot of fun for me, as I've not seen the films in a few years, and brings back the childhood memories.
Today, after a roast dinner, sorting Sean on Pottermore, and having a game of Scategories, we watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
With Sean being such a slow reader, it's probably going to be a while until I post about The Goblet of Fire!

#23: Tuning In
Switching my old school radio on this morning, was a great idea!
This morning, after I had showered, I decided to listen to my old school radio, whilst getting ready to go into town.
It's not often that I listen to the radio, apart from when I'm either in the car, or listening to Magic, Q, and Kerrang, whilst cleaning, or eating. I can't be dealing with the crap Kiss enjoys playing so much, so I'll usually bang on my PS3, and listen to my favourite tracks of all time... There are 1000s on there!
But when I get to the point where I feel it's time for a change, I check out what new material our "NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC '13" artists have to offer me, by switching on the radio.
Today, was all about Radio 2.
I put my fingers to the dial, and grazed the volume, in search of sweet sounds. All that was played from a small speaker, were radio signals out of alignment of what I needed to be hearing. So, I twisted the tuner, until music spoke to me, using the sounds of the 60s to communicate to me.
The Beatles, Elvis, and all the usual suspects were being counted down from a top 20 chart of the 60s. It was this that got me dancing, and started my day, in the was a day should be started! I was dressing, and swinging myself around my room, loving every second of it!
I left with a smile on my face, and returned with an even bigger one. Music is what reminds me that not only am I alive, but that I am living.
You can achieve whatever you want to in life, as long as you can hear the beat of your heart, feel the flow of blood, and taste the rhythm in your soul. Because music will keep you alive!

#22: Shortbread Gone Wrong
Last night, I completed Uncharted 2. However, this was at 4 in the morning, so I have fallen back into the trap of having weird sleeping patterns again.
I decided that today, I would make shortbread. All I needed to get was rice flour. So, I took a trip to a couple of corner shops, but returned home empty handed. I was going to have to make do with what I had... Along with no weighing scales.
Here's how I made the shortbread;
- I got 130g of butter, and 60g of caster sugar, and creamed it together in a bowel, until it was fluffy.
- I then sieved 190g of wheat free flour into it. Normally it would be 130g of plain flour, then another 60g of rice flour, but you already know my reasons!
- Then, I added a pinch of salt, and stirred the mixture, before bringing it all together.
- Once this was done, I lined my cake tin with grease paper, then added the mixture into the tin, and poked it a few times, with a fork.
- After this was done, I put it in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes.
- Once I had left it long enough to chill, I then baked it in the oven for 30 minutes on gas mark 3, (70 degrees).
- When it was done, I added the finishing touch, by sprinkling it with caster sugar, and left it to cool.
It didn't go that well. My family were perfectly happy with it, but I wasn't that impressed. It only cooked on top, and not all the way through, so it was quite buttery, and tasted far too sickly.
But as a wise man once said, practice makes perfect! However I think I'll have a go at cupcakes next time...

#21: Fire In The Sky
I managed to finally get my hands on a couple of gifts for Anya. I bought her a jewelled purple notebook, with a matching pen, and a cherry bakewell mirror. She loved them both, so I was chuffed.
On our way to Devon, we came across a beautiful sunset, where the sky looked as if it was on fire.

#20: My Veganism Wisdom
Showered, dressed, fed, and out the house, on the hunt for a belated Christmas gift for Anya.
Anya is just like any other 12 year old girl, so buying a gift for her should be easy... Except for 2 things that are different about her;
1) She is vegan
2) She's actually pretty awesome, unlike most 12 year olds I know.
Buying presents comes quite easily to me, as I'm usually pretty good at it, however this time I had quite a bit of trouble.
Being vegan means that not only do you not eat any kind of meat, you also do not eat, drink, wear, consume, or own anything with animal origin.
That goes for wool, milk, eggs, honey, beeswax, vitamin D from sheep wool, horse riding, animal skin, or any other body part. Certain food colourings, that come from crushed female insects, that are put in sweets and other foods. Carmine or shellac, which are put on products to make them have a shiny look, as this also comes from crushed insects. Also, use of animals in circuses, or aquariums are against their beliefs.
So, it's pretty hard to think of a lot without any of these things in.
I found a lovely pair of owl-themed, hand warmers, that when clicked, warmed your hands, with a heating sensation. They were the last pair, so I was ready to snatch them up, before anyone else. Unfortunately, they were made from wool, and were out of the question.
After asking my sister if wool was OK, as the sheep are not harmed when wool is made, and are simply needed to be shaven, in the summer, due to the heat, she explained, that the welfare of the sheep was not the matter at hand. Vegans do not take anything consumed by an animal, regardless as to weather it had been harmed or not.
To be honest, I found this difficult to understand. I understand why someone would not want to consume, wear, or have anything from an animal, if it had been harmed, but couldn't understand why it would be a problem, if they hadn't. Still... Each to their own.
I'm going to Devon tomorrow afternoon, so I have until then to find a gift!

#19: Olives and Chardonnay
No sleep at all last night. I spent all night awake, with my mind racing, thinking of strange, and random thoughts, such as being driven off a cliff in a car, pulling myself up onto a cliff, and walking along a desert, until finding a petrol station, before collapsing...
Did I mention it was quite hot?! Probably where all the "heated" thoughts came from!
So, from 7am onwards, I went to the job centre, the post office, and then returned home. I Spring cleaned, for when my mum comes back from Devon. I took down the Christmas tree, (yes! I know it's late!) cleaned, tidied, and gave the front room a kind of Asian vibe.
Me and Andy then headed for Bristol, and had coffee and a catch up, at Cafe Rouge. We then had a late lunch at The Coal Grill, where I was wine-ing and dining, with olives, king prawns, and salmon.
Andy says that he's decided he wants to move to Canada. He returned from a week over there, early on Sunday morning, but didn't want to come back.
He has a real purpose out there, regarding his business, and a great opportunity, I know he'll snatch up, as soon as possible!
I hope that one day that I am lucky enough to have a similar chance.
So now, I have another place added to my list of travels, along with somewhere to stay! I can't wait to see how it's going to all pan out!
But now, the clock has just struck midnight, and it's time to put this pumpkin to bed. She's been walking around in glass slippers for a total of 33 hours, and there are weird dreams that need to be dreamt!

#18: If Only We Had A Gun...
After going to bed at 23:00, then being awake between the hours of 04:00-07:00, I didn't wake up until 15:00.
So, my day has consisted of going to the job centre, and seeing Sean.
It was lovely nonetheless, as I haven't seen him in 5 days, so we had a lot of catching up to do!
However, this morning I did write a poem, about a break-up... The usual rubbish then!
It's not one of my best, as I have many more, but maybe one day I'll turn this one into a song, put strings back on the old guitar, learn how to play a little more, and perform it at an open mic...
Considering I have literally nothing else to blog about, here it is!
I'd come by your house,
We'd talk until the sun,
And plot our plans,
If only we had a gun
You'd always hold me close,
Say I'm the one you loved the most,
We had each other,
and didn't need anyone
You took my bad with the good,
And always let me in,
There's not one inch you would have changed of me,
Both outside, and deeper than skin.
The love we made in the earth that day,
pinpointing our true potential,
It faded away, with cigarette smoke, from the liquorice and menthol
I dreamt of you,
and you dreamt of me,
But dreams kept on dreaming,
Now I'm stuck in what could've been.
How was I to know,
you were the one I shouldn't have let go,
And now theres no more dreams left to dream.
So when I ask why you're not here,
I'll lie endlessly
I guess I'll tell myself we tried,
But it was never meant to be.

#17: My All-Nighter...
If you're familiar with my blog, then you'll already be aware that I am very much a night owl. Then sometimes, if I'm not tired enough to go to bed, I'll transform into an early bird.
My body clock is all over the place. So, as a result, I have decided to throw myself into the deep end, and get myself out of this bad sleeping habit, the hard way. I want to be able to see what morning looks like again, especially as it gets dark around 16:00, at the moment. It's important to get as much sunlight as possible.
After playing Uncharted 2 for roughly 8 hours, I decided it was time to wake myself up, dig out my gym gear, and my beloved Nike Airs. 2012 was a very lazy year for me, so deciding to go for a run, at 08:00 in the morning, is a big deal!
I had a run around the block, and felt a lot fitter than I thought I would have, so I was very happy about that.
But around 14:30, I failed! I ended up napping for nearly 3 hours.
I used to be able to do all-nighters a lot more easily, when I was 15, but it seems my old age has got the better of me, and I am no longer the conquerer of the night , that I once was...
And now bed at 23:00! This feels very odd...

#16: The Bucket List
Now there's a conversation starter...
However, I think that a bucket list is an incredibly personal thing, that you may not want to discuss.
There are a few things on my bucket list, that I'd be happy to discuss with people, such as the usuals; travel the world, learn to drive, and scuba dive. But, then there are the others, that you feel are better left kept closer to you.
This evening, me and Col decided to get a takeaway, and watch a film. Fish and chips were on the menu, along with The Bucket List, starring Morgan Freeman, and Jack Nicholson.
The two men discover that they are both terminally ill, and only have so long left to live. Shortly after the family orientated man, from a poor background (Freeman), and the rich, selfish character (Nicholson), are forced to share a hospital room, they become good friends, and decide to create a Bucket List between them, to complete before they die.
It's a very moving, and inspiring story, that gives you a different perspective on life.
My favourite kind of film!
This year, I'm going to write an even bigger bucket list, and work towards it day by day. You only live once, after all!
What would be on your bucket list?

#15: Tonight: Pasta!
I didn't sleep until 07:00, but woke up around 14:00, so I haven't been as bad as I usually am for sleeping in.
I applied for some jobs, and looked into some potential apprenticeships that I'm thinking of getting into.
Later that day, I decided to cook me and my brother a pasta.
Because I have literally nothing else to write about besides working through a few chapters, and earning a few trophies, on Uncharted 2, here is a little cooking lesson on how to make a delicious tuna and vegetable pasta for two... Or just vegetable if you're vegetarian! :)
You Will Need:
- 1 Sharp Knife
- 1 Chopping Board
- 1 Large Saucepan
- 1 Wooden Spoon
- 1 Frying Pan
- 1 Spatular
- 1 Sift
- 1 Cheese Grater
Ingredients:
- Pasta (Fusilli or Tubes are the beat for getting your fork into)
- Pasta Sauce (Tomato)
- Half a Red Pepper
- Half a Green or Yellow Pepper
- 3 Large Mushrooms
- Half a Courgette
- Half an Onion (or half white, and half red)
- (Half a tin on sweet corn, if you like)
- Some Cooking Oil (vegetable
- 1 Tin of Tuna
- Cheese
- Black Pepper
What To Do:
- First, you grab your pasta, and add about half the contents of the bag into the saucepan.
- Then, you fill the saucepan with water, so the water is just covering the top of the pasta, and put it on the job, full blast for 15-20minutes.
- In the 15-20 minutes that you are waiting for your pasta to cook, you will need to chop your vegetables. So, grab your knife and chopping board, and slice away. When chopping your veg, you want to make sure that all the different vegetables that you choose to use are cut roughly to the same size as each other, (about half a square inch). This is to ensure that all the vegetable are cooked and ready to serve at the same one, avoiding smaller pieces burning quicker, and larger pieces not being cooked enough.
- Once you have chopped all of your vegetable to equal size, add a drop of oil to your frying pan. (Be careful not to use too much, as this will create a lot of steam, and cause burning). Swirl the oil that you have in your pan in a circular motion, so the oil spreads to the rest of the untouched pan, and sweep your chopped veg from your chopping board, into the pan, with your knife.
- With all your veg now chopped, the pasta is probably done. Grab the saucepan, and the sifts, and empty the pasta into the sift. Rinse with hot water from the tap, to get rid of any excess starch, then put the pasta back into the saucepan.
- Now that the veg is in the pan, put your pan on the hob, on a medium-high setting, and wait for the vegetables to make a distinctive sizzling sound. Let it fizzle for a while, and whilst it's sizzling, add any herbs you like to the veg if you fancy. I like to use general mixed herbs, or chilli flakes for a bit of spice!
- After you've added the herbs, rotate the vegetables in the middle of the pan, to the outer side, and vice versa, with the veg on the outer side. This ensures all vegetables are cooked equally, and that nothing gets burnt. Repeat this process until the veg is a lovely silky, golden brown colour.
- Your veg and pasta are both done, so now it's time to add all of it together! Put your veg in with the pasta, and empty the jar of pasta sauce in with it, along with the sweetcorn and the tuna. Before adding your tuna or sweetcorn, be sure to drain any liquid from the tin, down the sink, by holding the lid of the tin in place, and letting the liquid drain out. Its important to do this so your pasta doesn't get too slushy.
- And mix! Mix all of your veg, tuna, and pasta together, whilst over the hob, until it all looks like an even colour. Keep mixing the pasta, until it is steaming, and bubbling, even after you keep mixing it. Then it's ready to serve!
- Serve the pasta, onto the dish, grate as much cheese as you want on top of it, add the finishing touch of black pepper, and you're done!

#14: Reminiscing With The Missing...
This evening has definitely made today the best day of the year, so far...
It started out pretty standard. Not getting up until 15:30, because I didn't get to sleep until 06:00. I put some clothes on, went for a walk before it got dark, bought some chocolate, and came home and had my breakfast... at around 16:30.
It was only when me and Lucy met up at The Crown, later that evening, that things got exceedingly good!
We headed to the garden, caught up on the antics of New Year's, and filled each other in on all the latest gossip. After, we headed back inside, we bumped into two old school friends, having a drink. Emma; an ex art class buddy, who I've always been friendly with, and Josh; a good friend, and GCSE drama partner, who I've been dying to catch up with!
We caught up on what had been happening in our lives over the past 6 years, and reminisced over the good old days! Performing for our GCSE Drama play, house parties, and of course, the classic; getting so drunk, you can't remember what you've said, or who you've insulted, but you know it definitely happened! Memories that are far too much fun to forget (when sober), so full of great times, and people greatly missed.
Friends come and go, in and out of our lives, but it's important to hold on to the ones that you can grasp, and to let go if the ones who slip away willingly. And then there's the ones who have just gone missing...
I think this is going to be the year of letting go of some current friends, making new ones, and reuniting with the oldies.

#13: Bearing Gifts From Devon
Today has been one of those days where you don't really do much, besides the things that you just have to get out of the way. For me, it was tidying up the left overs of Christmas in my room, and applying for jobs I probably won't here back from. Very boring!
But after getting home, and before doing these chores, I found a little surprise, that was left for me on my pillow.
My niece Anya, of 12 years, had come round the previous day, with the rest of the family. Unfortunately, I was at Sean's all day, so I was unable to see any of them, but I was left a lovely little Christmas present from her. A bar of bath melts, and a little tree, constructed of wire and little amethysts. How sweet?! So here is a picture, and a dedicated blog post to say thanks!
A very much needed soak in the tub will consist of this chunky bar of yumminess, along with a face pack, candle light, and some of my favourite tunes. I cannot wait!
For now though, I think I'm going to unwind in a different way, and have a little me time with none other than Nathan Drake himself. The main man, representing a trilogy of some of my favourite games. Time for Uncharted 2!

#12: Let The Resolutions Commence!
2013 eh?! I really hope that it's going to be better than 2012, because that really wasn't the greatest year...
The thing is, with every January 1st, no matter what year it is, it is usually always the time of year that encourages you more than ever, to change your life for the better. But gradually, as the months go on, you tend to lose whatever inspiration you were given. The drive you had, telling you to make these changes in yourself, for the better, fizzle out, and leave you with nothing but broken promises...
But enough of that misery! Today is a new day, and you can always learn from yesterday, to effect how you'll feel tomorrow. So, lets do this!
Today, naturally, I haven't been feeling 100%, but have taken the time out to write myself some New Year's Resolutions. I plan on starting and working towards these from tomorrow onwards...
1) Save up for travelling in 2014.
2) Get a job with full time hours, and keep it!
For many years, it has been my dream to travel around Europe, Asia, America, and pretty much everywhere there is to go! But unfortunately, since leaving school, I have only ever been able to get 8 hour jobs, so have been unable to put any money towards going places. I managed to save up enough money to go to Rome, and Amsterdam, back in 2010, but since then, I have not done as well. So, hopefully, I'll have better luck saving this year.
3) Decided on a career, and work towards it.
I've always been a great lover of music, but feel that it would be quite difficult to get a job in the music industry, so I'm thinking of leaving music as more of a hobby, and working towards another career. I think I would like to become either an adventure course instructor, or work in homeopathic treatment, such as as a masseuse, maybe. Or even a personal trainer! I'm going to spend a lot of my free time in the next few months researching different careers, and college courses, and maybe finally decide on what I want to do with my life!
4) Start working out again, and go back to the gym.
In 2011, I was always at the gym, but after losing my job, I found I couldn't afford my membership anymore, so I quit. I stopped going around March 2012, and began to slack, and stop working out all together. Luckily, as I don't drive, and me and my boyfriend live on opposite ends of town, I tend to find myself walking around 2 miles a day, so I manage to keep myself active. I'm also a very healthy eater, despite consuming ridiculous amounts of chocolate, on a daily basis, so I have been able to keep relatively active, and healthy. But I do want to do more for myself. I want to push my boundaries like I used to, and become the best me I can be. The aim is to start working out again, and once I get a full time job, rejoin the gym.
5) Read up to once a day.
I have a never ending list of books I wish to read, and have always wanted to be a book worm. The only problem is that I am a slow reader, and I hardly ever find myself remembering to pick up a book. I have improved, but I now want to fly through books, and find out about the favourite reads, I have yet to discover.
There are a few more resolutions on my list, consisting of walking at least once a day, and continuing my wheat free diet, but these are my main priorities.
Good luck to anyone else who wishes to improve their life, and good luck to me!
