#07: "...To Make Each Day Count!"

The days between Christmas, and new year are always the laziest. Your kind of in limbo between eating too much, and starting back at the gym...

I wasn't feeling too well this morning, so slept in until quite late, and I was planning on visiting Manning Close this evening, but have decided to leave that until tomorrow.

At the moment, I'm sat watching what I think, is the greatest love story of all time; Titanic!

Although, this sounds like a lazy day, (which it is), I'm glad to be sat here watching this epic film, as I have been completely filled with inspiration.

Just before the scene I've posted a picture of, where Jack and Rose have a fun and crazy night, at the 3rd class party; Jack is sat with some of the first class passengers, exchanging conversation.

When sat at the table, the mother of Rose, Ruth, asks Jack where he is living, and Jack informs her that his current address is RMS Titanic, and then after that, he's on God's good humour.

"You find that sort of rootless existence appealing, do you?" - Ruth

To which Jack replies with something I find incredibly inspiring. A quote in a film I find highly underrated, and truer than most.

"Well, yes Ma'am, I do. I mean, I've got everything I need right here with me. I've got air in my lungs, a few blank sheets of paper. I mean, I love waking up in the morning, not knowing what's gonna happen, or who I'm gonna meet, where I'm gonna wind up. Just the other night, I was sleeping under a bridge, and now here I am, on the grandest ship in the world, drinking champagne with you fine people! I figure life's a gift, and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you... To make each day count."

I wish to live my life by this quote, and the meaning of it is the main reason as to why I started this blog originally...

"To make each day count."

So, as I sit here sobbing over the greatest love story of all time, watching the ship sink, along with it's lost souls, I'll make extra effort, and a mental note to myself to never forget this valuable lesson... And I can always check back here if I ever forget : )
