#86: Life Or Death?

When I was in college, part of an assignment I had to do, was to write a comparison between two scenes in two different films. I chose the scene in Pulp Fiction, where Jules and Vincent are shot at, but escape death, as the bullets seem to miraculously avoid the pair. The other scene I chose was the scene in Leon, where Mathilda escapes death by knocking on Leon's door.

We watched Leon this evening, and it reminded me that this scene is one of my favourite iconic scenes of all time. The tension in the scene is built up brilliantly. You are on edge and in total suspense when watching. This is one of those scenes in films where the film can go in two completely different directions, depending on what decision a character chooses to take... Much like being at the crossroads of life itself.

I used to have this picture framed in my room, as Leon used to be one of my favourite films of all time. It still is, but is probably more likely to be in my Top 20, rather than my Top 10. This photo went missing, and I have yet to find it, or but another copy, but this picture definitely deserves a place on my wall.
