#65: A Ring Of Fire, Fit For A King!

Today has mostly consisted of sitting by the window, sewing, with curlers in my hair. I looked like a character in a 1960's episode of Coronation Street.

But as the evening drew closer, things got more exciting. It was time to celebrate getting my new job! :)

Me and Clara (my brother's best friend), invested into the sweet tastes of Rose wine, and some naughty water.

With my screwdriver, Clara's vodka and coke, and Col's Codbra, a drinking game was definitely on the cards! So, we decided on Kings/ Ring Of Fire.

The rules of the game are;

You sit in a circle, with a glass in the middle of the table. You spread the deck of cards, face down, in a circle, around the glass. You then take it in turns, one by one, to pick a card at random. Each number or symbol, represents a task or meaning. You then have to carry out the action. A good thing about this game is that nearly all of the numbers or symbols rhyme with the name of the action. Here are the meanings;

Ace: Waterfall - The person who picks this card will start drinking their drink continuously, then the person next to them starts drinking, and then that person next to them, and so on, so forth. The rule is that you are not allowed to stop drinking until the person next to you decides to stop. They don't have to stop when the person next to them stop. They cann choose to carry on if they like, usually to be cruel to the other players, as it results to the last person drinking the longest.

Two: You - You select a player to have a drink, by saying "you" to them.

Three: Me - You take a sip of your drink.

Four: Whores - All ladies take a sip.

Five: Slap -  Everyone slaps the table. The last person to slap the table has a sip of their drink.

Six: Dicks - All the boys have a drink.

Seven: Heaven - Everyhone points up. The last person to point has a sip.

Eight: Category - The player with this card chooses a category of their own, and you take turns to name something from that category until you can's think of anymore. If a player takes too long to think of an answer, (more than 4 seconds), that player will then drink. You then carry on with the game.

Nine: Rhyme - You then pick a word,and the players will take it in turns to rhyme another word with it. Again, if a player takes too long to think of an answer, the player will then drink. You then carry on with the game.

Ten: Cheers! - Everyone cheerses and has a drink.

Jack: Rule - Someone makes a rule within the game, and all players have to stick to it. If at anytime, a player breaks the rule, they have to take a sip of their drink. A goods one I always like to go for is that you are not allowed to pint, (with the exception of if you get a 7). I'm definately a pointer, so I find it incredibly difficult, and very funny when I end up pointing at everyone.

Queen: Question - You have to ask a question to the next player. They then have to answer, and ask the player next to them a question, then they answer. This act has to be done as quickly as possible, which much pausing, or umming. If a player takes too long, they sip.

Kings: King's Cup - That player pours a little of their drink into the glass. Eventually, there will only be one king left. Whoever recieves the last king last to down whatever has been put in that glass.

An absolute classic! It sounds like it would be difficult to remember, or a little tedious, but you soon get the hang of it, and it becomes a lot of fun. It tends to be a game you can only play with 3 or more people, but it's a great way to get drunk quickly. Give it a go next time you're pre-driinking with your posse!
